Wounded man found on lawn in deadly Abbotsford shooting
B.C.'s homicide team has been brought in to investigate a fatal shooting in a quiet residential neighbourhood in northwest Abbotsford.
People living in the area say they heard seven or eight gunshots in rapid succession around 9 p.m.
Police arrived to find an injured man in the yard who had been shot several times.
Paramedics were called and began to treat the man. He was rushed to hospital where he later died.
Const. Ian MacDonald of Abbotsford Police said it received multiple 911 calls when the shooting began.
"We deployed patrol division officers as well as emergency response team members," ( according to sources)
Police are now looking into whether this may be connected to other violent crime in the area recently.
Investigators are canvassing the area around the 3100-block of Crown Court in the Clearbrook area.
It's not clear if the shooting is targeted. The victim's name has not been released.
